Zephyr Liddell X Print Clan
In late 2020 we had the pleasure of welcoming Artist and Costume Designer Zephyr Liddell into the Print Clan studio, to work on her project Every Map Has a Scale.

Zephyr screen printed over 30 metres of fabric for her work with Director Joan Clevillé at Scottish Dance Theatre, using our Exclusive Table Hire service to completely book out the studio.

“For Every Map Has a Scale I worked with the dancers to trace the body movements, & walking in Dundee to capture images of the architecture. I created collages and visual compilations of movement, colour and texture. Scaling up, I hand painted the artwork separations and [by] working intuitively with the design I created 8 metre long collages on cloth, an extra large improvisation process. The fabric was then cut and collaged again into boiler suits.”

It was wonderful having Zephyr at the studio and seeing our 10 metre textile table and largest screens being used to their full capacity for her beautiful, large scale prints. Arianna was on hand throughout Zephyr’s time at the studio to provide technical help:
"Arianna worked closely with me during production and planning, without her skilled support I couldn't have accomplished such an ambitious project in such a short amount of time!"
The finished results are beautiful garments and we look forward to having her back at the studio again soon!
