Happy New Year & Studio Updates
The team at Print Clan would like to take the opportunity to wish all our followers, members & supporters best wishes for a brighter 2021. The past 10 months have been a challenge for us all, and we are grateful that our small business has so far survived this period.
We’re hopeful that as the effects of the pandemic ease over the coming months we are able to once again welcome you back into the studio. For now, the studio sadly remains closed to members in light of the current lockdown restrictions imposed across Scotland and the UK. As ever the safety and wellbeing of our staff and members remains our utmost priority. One of our team will still be going into the studio to facilitate the Print From Home project and carry out essential maintenance, and the rest of us remain contactable via email for any print related questions you might have!
Print From Home Successes
Whilst we can’t see you in person, we are fortunate to be continuing our Print From Home courses, which were generously funded by Creative Scotland back in September. After spending so much time planning and pitching the project we can’t believe that we are already halfway through, having finished three courses before the end of 2020.
Teaching screen printing over Zoom is not without its challenges, but our tutors are so impressed by the engagement, enthusiasm and skill of our participants. The courses have provided a weekly focus for staff and students alike, with two-thirds of students feeling that the Print From Home course improved their mood. We’ve been collecting feedback throughout the process and have been overjoyed by the responses.

January has brought two more sold out courses which got off to a great start last week, and we have two more final dates in February before our Creative Scotland funding ends. The Print From Home courses have been such a success that we hope to continue the project in some form beyond this timeline. We also look forward to hopefully welcoming some of our Print From Home students into the studio, to use our equipment and put their printing skills to good use!
