Alongside many other independent businesses, having to close the studio due to Covid-19 has put an unprecedented financial strain on us at Print Clan. We are really pleased to share with you that we have been awarded a £10,000 Coronavirus Business Support Fund from Glasgow City Council. This funding takes a lot of pressure off us, and means that we can focus on looking to the future and safely welcoming you back into the studio.
The money will be used to pay for essential studio costs such as rent and bills, and to pay the Print Clan team for the hours they have put in over lockdown. As well as bringing you our online workshops we’ve been working hard on some new projects that we hope to launch soon. We are also excited to invest in some new equipment for the studio - a bullet steamer is top of the list!
Studio Reopening
After lots of consideration and planning, we have made the decision that it is now possible to safely reopen the studio. The health of our staff and customers is, and continues to be, our utmost priority. We will be asking both staff and members to self-certify their health before coming in, and confirm upon arrival that you are symptom-free. You may be asked to sign a form confirming this, and have your temperature taken. If you have any symptoms of coronavirus or have had contact with anyone who does, please cancel your booking and follow the Scottish Government advice to stay at home.
To maintain a two metre distance whilst working, only one member and one technician will be allowed in at a time. Our team will be responsible for increased regular cleaning of the space and equipment, and we ask members to observe best hygiene practices such as regular hand-washing whilst using the studio.
Thanks to the funding we are able to subsidise the cost for members booking in to use the space in this time. Instead of our exclusive studio hire rate we will be offering a discount price of £25 per day during this period.
