Have a go at printing your own CMYK separation screen print in this intermediate workshop at Print Clan.
What will happen during the workshop?
This process separates artwork into four layers of cyan, magenta, yellow, and black, before printing them on top of one another to reproduce a full colour image. You will be shown how to correctly separate an image using Adobe Photoshop, and expose your own image layers onto pre-coated screens. You will then be guided through printing your own four colour separation onto at least two pieces of textiles. You will also be shown different examples of CMYK separations, and leave with a collection of sample pieces and an information sheet about the process.
What experience do I need?
As you are working with a specialised process basic knowledge of the screen printing process is preferable.
Equipment Provided:
Equipment and materials such as screens, acetates, and inks are all included. You will be provided with two pieces of material to sample on, but you are welcome to bring additional pieces. Prior to attending the workshop you need to send us a high quality image or photograph to use for your separation.
